Midsrailer
Born in Leeds Kent in 1959, I grew up in the Kent countryside for 16yrs. My secondary schooling was at the 'The Cornwallis School' founded by the late Lord Cornwallis. Sited close to the Cornwallis estate at Linton in Kent, my continued fascination for Wildlife was enhanced by the herd of Deer on the Lord's estate.
I joined H.M. Royal Navy in 1975, & besides travelling round the world, at the taxpayers well spent expense, I learnt to be a better person & more informed. I left the forces, after getting married, went on to have 4 children 3 girls & a boy. Whose lives I watched into their late teenage years. I divorced in 2010.
On leaving the forces I served part time with the Kent Fire Brigade, & Security Supervisor at a shopping centre in Kent. I also served in the Royal Mail, & worked as a Chauffer & shunter for a car hire company in Kent. I then went on to join the Railway & started as Track maintenance, moved onto being a Supervisor. I then moved to the West Midlands, to become a level crossing operator. Since the crossing has been replaced, I have moved onto being a member of Station Staff at a Midlands Station.
Beside my wide & varied working career, I have been an Avid Believer in Travel, especially in the UK, Health & Wildlife. These topics are close to my heart. In following some of these subjects in the Hub, I apologise in advance for any offence taken by any reader of my comments, but these are of course only my opinions!
